Works but could be better
Wednesday, January 29, 2025
Reviewer: Jeffrey Dickinson from Edmond, OK United States
The tug will move our PA32-300 around the ramp. But to pull it on a concrete hangar floor you either have to modify the floor so the tires will "stick" or you have to put high down force on the drill to weigh down the tug. Its only an issue pulling the aircraft, pushing is easy. The dolly wheels to help move the tug are good but when you tilt it back to move the tug unless are 4 foot tall the drill is very low to hold and move the tug around the area. Adding the extra bracket to mount on the nose gear was a royal pain to install given you have to take the wheel pant off to do so. All in all it's functional but I don't think it's worth the 2300 I paid for the unit.

MiniMax Support was Great Struggled to Success
Tuesday, December 3, 2024
Reviewer: Don from KGVL Georgia
I initially thought I was stuck with a bad Minimax product. I have a Piper Archer with wheel pants and the MiniMax Tug product did not work out the box. I rebuilt that thing a dozen times before I finally called the MiniMax support line and made my complaint. The fella immediately diagnosed the problem that I had after market wheel pants. He worked with me to measure and make a custom tow bar extension and presto the product worked. I would say the product TODAY is 5 star. Works great. The aggravation getting to the final solution makes it a 4 star experience.

Piper Wheel Pants
Tuesday, December 3, 2024
Reviewer: David Shepherd from Bakersfield, CA United States
Product shipped quickly and was easy to assemble. I had to order the tow plate to provide clearance over the wheel pant. Unfortunately the tow plate cut-out for the strut was too small but a little grinding and it fit just fine.
It certainly takes a little practice to master but certainly makes it easier to pull out and push back into the hangar.

I ordered the tow plate as a replacement for one originally purchased. Was happy to see a new beefier design. Very happy with the results.

Great purchase experience, good customer service

Reviewer: SUZANNE C. from VA United States
This type tow plate is a good bit thinner than the standard Piper unit. It works great with the tiff tug, but others must be EXTREMELY CAREFUL in the turns. A little twist can lead to a bend and then waking warping of the tow plate. I'm on my third one in two years! It's annoying, but some hardening or heat treatment or thickening might help extend lifetime of unit.
