DESCRIPTION TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

This tug ships with a 20V Dewalt power system. If you want more power, the Milwaukee 28V power system must be purchased as an option.

If you have a smooth concrete or epoxy painted hangar floor, we recommend buying our Traction Tape or Wheel Weight Hubs option to prevent tire slippage.

If you are purchasing Wheel Weight Hubs you must click HERE to purchase 2 - 25 lb. cast iron weights.
The wheel weight hubs are only the hubs and do not come with the weights themselves. The weights ship for free from the vendor in the link.
NOTE: These are the ONLY weights which fit our weight hubs

NOTE:
Some tow pins are located very close to the nose gear fairing. Attach your hand tow bar to the tow pins letting it rest atop the fairing. Viewing from the side, note if tow bar handle is above or below a visual level line from tow pins. If level or above, you will need the Cessna Side Hub option. You can select it above in the Product Options area. If its below level, you're good with stock forks.

IF YOU LIKE TO OVER-TIGHTEN BOLTS, BUY A SPARE T-BOLT CLAMP. THEY ARE NOT WARRANTIED AGAINST BREAKAGE.

Cessna 150,152,172,177 Tug

At Minimax Tugs, we believe that you should get to spend your time doing the things you love. If lugging your plane from its hangar isn't on that list, we've got a range of solutions for you. We manufacture a wide variety of tugs for general aviation aircraft up to 4,000 pounds gross weight. This wheel pants plane tug fits Cessna planes 150,152,172 and 177. How does it work? While the unit requires some assembly, users generally find that their lightweight Cessna tug is completely ready to use in 30 minutes or less. Once assembled, the tug provides features such as 3-speed power source, a built-in rheostat, LED light, and an automatic brake.

This tug is designed using a Dewalt 20V brushless, cordless drill which powers the unit to provide heavy-duty towing. The drill drives the gearbox via a high strength steel drive shaft. It's comfortable working height takes the load off your knees, back and arms in the process. Enjoy more of your free time with a portable Cessna aircraft tug that's as durable as it is easy to use. The simple knock-down design makes it easy to stow in your plane for use at your destination. You'll find this product exceptionally well made and we guarantee it'll become an invaluable part of your routine the second you use it.

4 of 5 Straight forward assembly, easy to use - mostly June 19, 2020

Assembly instructions could be a bit clearer, but eventually you get the idea and assembly goes reasonably quickly.  I enjoy using this product with one minor exception - the latching and unlatching process requires balancing the tug to avoid the arms hitting the bottom cowling, grasping the far side arm and pulling while pushing the locking side in order the engage the latch.  It works and the more you do it the quicker it goes.  A different type of latching system would be preferable - perhaps a scissor style device with a spinning mechanism to close the arms.  The battery lasts a while and I have moved the plane all over the ramp, in/out of a hangar with plenty of charge remaining.  It does push far more readily than it pulls.  You absolutely must start the aircraft moving on level 1 and only the smallest amount of trigger squeeze.  Once rolling you can speed it up.  It is a fair value for the money.

5 of 5 Tug for Cessna 150 no wheel pants March 26, 2020

The tow is easy to use, works fine. It goes slow enough to avoid hangar rash.

4 of 5 Tug performs as advertized August 28, 2019
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Perry, FL United States (40J)
Delivery by UPS was on time.  Assembly was easy, only glitch was the fingers on the shaft tube were bend slightly inward so drill chuck could not be inserted.  Bend finger outward slightly with pliers and assembly went smoothly from there.  The right hand attachment socket was not deep enough to accept the length of bolt on my  nose gear so I removed it from the arms and drilled it out approximately 3/8".  The floor in my hanger is smooth finished concrete so getting my 177 moving out of the hanger requires some downward pressure on the handle so wheels don't spin, but tug has plenty of power for uphill push on asphalt back into the hanger.  Like the tug very much, it saves my back and allows me to take aircraft in and out by myself.
