Perfect design for my Piper Archer

Reviewer: Dan Sweeny from Parrish, FL United States
This Minimax tug works perfectly. Right out of the box, the quality build is evident and assembly was simple. My first time using it probably saved me from another problem as well. I hooked the tug up to the flange above the front wheel pant, activated the reverse switch and the wheels wouldn't produce enough traction to move the airplane. I hadn't done my preflight yet because I was anxious to try out the tug. It didn't take long to figure out why I was not getting enough traction to move the plane. Both main tires were slightly low on pressure which caused the tongue of the tug to rest lower and forcing the tug tires to raise up slightly, enough to degrade the traction capability. Once the tire pressure on the mains was brought up to normal, the tug worked perfectly. Money well spent, I only wish I would have bought my Minimax tug years earlier and I'm glad to have found them at Oshkosh this year.

Good Value for a lite-duty Tug

Purchased to aid in pushing our Saratoga back into the hangar. My partners are both over 70 and I cannot abide having one of them slip and fall pushing back, especially in inclement weather.

Minimax tug

Works really well on my pa-32. It’s a little hard to turn. The tug wants to rotate up on one tire when turning and I have to stop and pick the tug up and set it back onto both tires. The tug does have plenty of power.

Excellent purchase - Could not be more pleased

Reviewer: Bill Brendel from Corpus Christi and Waco, TX United States
Bought the Piper (wheel pants) tug to help with the PA 28-235 as I transition from KCRP to KACT. Prompt delivery and well packed. Construction is solid. Parts fit well. It is an attractive unit. Assembly is relatively simple. Read the instructions several times and watch the videos. Brandon is available by email (24/7) to assist. Proper tire pressures cannot be emphasized enough-both the tug and aircraft. The first time I used the tug-I could barely budge the airplane. Tire pressures were super low due to temps dropping to the 30s. Aired-up tires and the tug pushed and pulled with ease. There is a definite learning-curve but with practice you will learn the dance. One trick-use light 'trigger'' pressure on the drill when starting your push/pull. This virtually eliminates the initial jump and traction issues. This little unit develops a lot of torque so go slowly. Again thanks Brandon for the help. I absolutely recommend the Minimax Tug for quality, utility, and product support.
