The steel drive shaft failed due to an aggressive step up into the hanger. Replacement parts were delivered promptly and for a reasonable price. Great communication along the way.

When my now 6 year old Tug started to make an unusual sound, I called the company and got an immediate diagnosis. The replacement part arrived and my tug is as good as new.

Drive shaft
October 9, 2020

Though I tow my SEL airplane on level ground, the shaft "rounded out" in the square socket rendering the Minimax inoperative regardless of the drill chosen for the drive. This component seems to be made of too soft steel....hardened, or not. The entire Minimax line seems to be 'under engineered, but over-priced.
!/2 round steel stock goes for about $6 at Lowes, it can be hardened very easily. Minimax' $39 + shipping, replacement is pretty steep considering the short life.
I suggest that the entire Minimax be re-designed to incorporate components that will last more than a few months.
REPLY FROM MINIMAX - We have a great reputation of superior customer service. All it would have taken is for you to put a name on this comment, we would have reached out to you and sent you a replacement at no charge. A phone call would have remedied the problem as well. We stand behind what we build and are sorry there was a problem. If you contact us, we will make it right.
